NTFS write support on Mac OS X 10.8.2

NTFS write support for 1TB external drive is tested and following procedure worked for me.

OS X version used: 10.8.2

1. Install OSXFUSE 2.5.4 from
http://osxfuse.github.com
Select MacFuse compatibility layer by selecting customize installation option.

2. Install fuse_wait-1.1.pkg from
https://github.com/bfleischer/fuse_wait/downloads

3. Install NTFS-3G for Mac OS X 2010.5.22 support from
http://macntfs-3g.blogspot.in/2010/10/ntfs-3g-for-mac-os-x-2010102.html

Warning: Installation order should not changed and use it at your own risk. I am not a Mac OS X Expert.

I tried reading/writing big files of size 4+ GB. It worked well for me. All the best.

  1. Update: Recently I upgraded to OS X 10.8.3. The NTFS read/write still works for me.
