Windows Storage Server 2008 is about to release

According to TechNet blog, Windows Storage Server 2008 is now RTM (Release to Manufacture)

TechNet blog claims that Windows Storage Server 2008 (WSS08) will ready to serve data within 30 minutes.

Windows Storage Server 2008 is built out of optimized release of reliable and flexible file services of Windows Server 2008 and tweaked for file I/O, storage and file services. Microsoft adds new advanced storage technologies such as file de-duplication with SIS (Single Instance Storage) and an iSCSI software target (Using iSCSI Software Target, including the iSCSI Software Target Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in, you can create and manage iSCSI targets and iSCSI virtual disks for storage) for unified file-and-block-based storage and packages it for delivery within storage appliances.

Windows Storage Server 2008 (WSS08) will be deployed in an appliance form-factor which means hardware and software requirements are pre-configured vastly simplifying the deployment tasks normally associated with a new file server.
