Cloud computing technology is an IT abstraction over the internet that provides on-demand provisioning of different hardware and software resources based on pre-defined SLAs.

From user’s/customer’s perspective, it is a black box over the internet where applications can be deployed without worrying about complex underlying IT infrastructure required to run our applications. Underlying infrastructure may contain other application and software services, storage and networking, processing/computing power, bandwidth etc.

In order to estimate the popularity of “Cloud Computing”, we can look at its Google trends. Statically, we can clearly observe “Cloud Computing" interest with an exponential increase in the trend.

+ Why do we need Cloud computing?

It is a bit tricky. Generally, in Information Technology industry, new technologies are arriving constantly and that too at a faster pace. They start to provide significant advantages over old technologies. So most of the businesses leverage these new changes into their business models to earn more profit. This will create cloud computing demand and eventually different vendors come into play to provide different cloud computing services. Hope that explains a bit about it.


Businesses don’t need to worry about CAPEX. This will allow to concentrate more on business rather provisioning and investing upfront on IT infrastructure. IT infrastructure may be software or hardware based on application-specific needs.
